September 18th: Nimrud – Is it ever okay to steal artefacts?

In this thought-provoking video, we delve into the controversial topic of artifact theft and examine the case of Nimrud. Nimrud, the ancient Assyrian city dating back over 3,000 years, has been a hotbed for artifact theft. With priceless treasures being looted and smuggled, a heated debate has emerged regarding the rightfulness of such actions. Specifically, did the unlawful removal of the artefacts in past, protect them from destruction from terrorists? This video will explore it’s history, and how the Assyrian cultures evolved, from cities like Ashur, and the legacy of actions from Archaeologists like Austen Henry Layard.
